Dana White confirmed the fight on his Twitter today.
This fight will be Shields’ return to middleweight. Shields was on a 15 fight prior to losing to Georges St. Pierre at UFC 129 for the UFC’s welterweight title in April 2011. Since joining the UFC he’s fought only at welterweight going 2-2.
A win for Ed Herman would extend his win streak to four, a career best. He most recently fought at UFC 143 in February and took out Clifford Starks with a rear naked choke.
