The first announcement was made by MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani today. On November 17 at UFC 154 in Montreal, Canada, Tristar fighter Francis Carmont will fight “Flithy” Tom Lawlor. Tom Lawlor is coming off a highlight reel knockout of Jason MacDonald at UFC on FUEL TV in May. Carmont is coming off a rear naked choke victory over Karlos Vemola at this month’s UFC on FUEL TV card.
Carmont’s won his last 8 in a row and has finished 7 of the last 8. Lawlor’s 4-3 in the UFC and will have to face Carmont on his own turf. Carmont is originally from France, but trains in Montreal with Georges St. Pierre who is headlining UFC 154.
The second fight between Rick Story and Demain Maia was announced on Twitter on Tuesday by Rick “The Horror” Story.
I’m fighting Demian Maia in Rio!

The two will square off at UFC 153 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on October 13th. This is the UFC’s third trip to Brazil and the main event features a featherweight title fight that pits Erik Koch against reigning champ, Jose Aldo.
This will be a huge test for Story who started off hot in the UFC. He went 6-1 in his first seven UFC fights until suffering back to back losses to Charlie Brenneman and Martin Kampmann. He rebounded from those losses at UFC on FX: Maynard vs Guida when he took home a unanimous decision win over Brock Jardine.
Brazilian native Demian Maia will make his second appearance at welterweight against Story. Maia won his debut at 170 in under minute knocking out Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 148 in July. Maia is 10-4 in the UFC and is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu specialist.
