Rory MacDonald Hurt, Out of UFC 152 vs BJ Penn

Dana White told reporters following the UFC on FOX 4 press conference that Rory MacDonald is out of 152. According to the UFC President, he suffered a huge cut in training on his forehead while sparring with Georges St. Pierre.  He added that there is no one on tap to replace MacDonald to fight BJ Penn as of now.

MacDonald vs Penn was scheduled to take place in Toronto, Canada at the Air Canada Centre for UFC 152 on September 22nd.  This was to be Penn’s return to the Octagon.  He had retired following his loss to Nick Diaz at UFC 137.  Despite  the UFC trying to get Penn to fight Melendez in Strikeforce, and other contenders like Josh Koscheck calling BJ out to fight, Penn didn’t decide to come out of retirement until accepting MacDonald’s challenge.
