According to TwinCities.com Bellator heavyweight champ, Cole Konrad is calling it quits with his MMA career in exchange for a suit.
The article reports:
“Former Gophers NCAA heavyweight champion wrestler Cole Konrad, who won $100,000 as defending Bellator mixed martial arts champion, has retired from fighting and taken a job with North Central Trading as a financial trader specializing in milk products.”
Bellator has not said how they plan to fill the vacant title yet. Konrad leaves MMA with an undefeated 9-0 record. He competed in Bellator’s first heavyweight tournament and blew through the competition to earn the inaugural belt.
At Bellator 70 in May, Konrad defended his title against Eric Prindle and defeated him in the first round via kimura submission to retain the title.
