According to a tweet by UFC Australia, Chris “The Crippler” Leben (22-8, MMA) is set to fight Karlos Vemola (9-3, MMA) at UFC 155 in Las Vegas, NV on December 29th.
Leben hasn’t had a fight in the UFC since being TKO’d by Mark Munoz at UFC 138 on November 5, 2011. A few weeks following the loss, it was announced by Zuffa that Leben had tested positive for oxycodone & oxymorphone and would be suspended for a year. It was the second time Leben, a semi-finalist in the first season of The Ultimate Fighter, had tested positive for a banned substance while fighting under the Zuffa banner.
Vemola is coming off a submission loss to Francis Carmont at UFC on FUEL TV 4: Munoz vs Weidman. This will be his 3rd fight at 185 where he currently has one win and one loss. Vemola has also fought at heavyweight and light heavyweight since joining the UFC.
UFC 155 will be headlined by a rematch between Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.
