Miguel Torres (40-5, MMA) is set to scrap against Marlon Moraes (8-4, 1 draw) at the 1st MMA World Series of Fighting event on November 3rd at Planet Hollywood’s PH Live in Las Vegas, NV. Promotion officials announced the news Friday.
The bout is on tap to be the co-main event. The show will be headlined by veteran MMA heavyweights, Andrei Arlovski and Devin Cole.
Miguel Torres was released from the UFC following a first round knockout loss to Michael McDonald at UFC 145. He was the former WEC Bantamweight Champion. He won the belt at WEC 32 in February 2008 and defended the title three times before losing the strap in a knockout loss to Brian Bowles at WEC 42 in August 2009.
Moraes has most recently fought with Xtreme Fighting Championships. Of the 24-year-old’s eight wins, six of them are first round finishes. His last XFC fight in April 2012 was a 1st round knockout win over Jarrod Card.
