Yves Edwards Scheduled to Fight John Cholish December 8th

Yves Edwards got the short end of the stick when Jeremy Stephens was arrested hours prior to their scheduled fight at UFC on FX 5 on October 5. According to UFC President Dana White, Yves waited the entire duration of the fight card waiting and ready to go in the event the UFC got Stephens released. He also credited Yves for being a class act the way he handled the situation and promised to reschedule him soon.

Dana stood by his word and got Edwards set to fight John Cholish at UFC on FOX in Seattle on December 8th. MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani confirmed the news Wednesday with event sources.

Edwards, AKA “Thugjitsu”, is 3-2 in the UFC and fought four times in each of the last two years. In 2012, he hasn’t fought at all. The fight vs Stephens was to be his first of the year. In Edwards’ last fight, he dropped a decision to The Ultimate Fighter season 13 winner, Tony Ferguson in December 2011 at the TUF 14 Finale.

John Cholish is also looking to rebound from a loss he suffered in May at the hands of Danny Castillo at UFC on FOX 3. Prior to the loss, which was Cholish’s 2nd fight in the UFC, he was on a 8-fight win streak.
