The injury bug has shown no mercy in 2012. Fans can only hope the trend will come to a halt in 2013. But currently, Team Alpha Male’s TJ Dillashaw becomes the latest to fall victim to the injury plague. He has had to withdraw from his fight against Mike Easton (13-1, MMA) slated for UFC on FOX 5 on December 8th in Seattle’s KeyArena.

Stepping in for Dillashaw is Bryan Caraway (17-5, MMA) who competed on The Ultimate Fighter in season 14. UFC officials announced the news on Tuesday afternoon.

Caraway comes into the bout having won both of his last two contests in the UFC. The former WEC fighter has finished all of his last three opponents via Rear Naked Choke submission. When he submitted Mitch Gagnon in his last performance at UFC 149 in July, he earned Fight of the Night honors.

Mike “The Hulk” Easton is on the rise as a bantamweight to watch. Coming into to this fight with an 8-fight win streak, Easton told MMA Fight Corner following his latest win over Ivan Menjivar at UFC 148, that he’d take on any challenger in the 135 pound division, including teammate Dominick Cruz. The only loss Easton has on his record happened because his corner threw in the towel when Easton suffered a broken arm.

The main event in Seattle’s KeyArena on December 8 is a lightweight championship bout between current champ, Benson Henderson, and challenger Nate Diaz.
