The UFC has confirmed that featherweight scrap pitting Brazil’s Rony Jason against Jeremy “Lil Heathen” Stephens has been moved to UFC Fight Night 32 on November 9.
Both men suffered injuries in training forcing the change. Initially, the bout was expected to take place on October 9 as part of UFC Fight Night 29.
Rony is the winner of 8 straight fights, three of which have taken place inside the Octagon. Rony has never fought outside of his native Brazil. He made his UFC debut in Belo Horizonte and defeated Godofredo Pepey. In his last effort, Jason faced TUF Smashes competitor Mike Wilkinson, taking all of 84 seconds to submit him.
Fighting in Brazil for the first time in his 30 fight career is Alliance trained Stephens. Stephens has rebounded after finding himself in a rough spot in his career. After losing 3 consecutive fights at lightweight to Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone and Yves Edwards, Stephens cut down to featherweight. In his debut at 145 pounds, he took home a unanimous decision over Estevan Payan at UFC 160.
The addition of Jason vs. Stephens is the 10th bout scheduled for UFC Fight Night 32. Light Heavyweights Vitor Belfort vs. Dan Henderson will do battle in the main event.
