TUF China Finale announces 3 bouts: Phan vs. Lee and TUF China finals

Thursday the UFC confirmed 3 more bouts are on tap for the promotion’s return to Macau, China for the TUF China Finale. The event is slated for March 1 and will take place at the Venetian Macau Resort & Hotel’s Cotai Arena.

First, the finals are set for conclusion of TUF China which includes the welterweight finale pitting Sai Wang (6-4-1) against Lipeng Zhang (6-7-1). The featherweight finale features Jianping Yang (6-3-1) vs. Guangyou Ning (3-2-1).

In the welterweight final, Wang competed on Team Flying Lions was the first pick of Coach Hailin Ao. Zhang was also the first pick on Team Sky Dragons which was coached by Tiequan Zhang.

Both of the featherweight finalists were also the first picked by each coach. Yang was selected by Coach Ao and Ning by Zhang.

Featherweights Nam Phan and Vaughan Lee will also square off at the finale.

Since competing on the 12th season of The Ultimate Fighter, Phan has only won twice in the UFC. Despite showing amazing resilience in his last effort, Phan fell to take his 5th loss in the promotion against Takeya Mizugaki at UFC Fight Night 33.

England’s Lee was expected to welcome Sergio Pettis to the Octagon at UFC 167, but suffered an injury that kept him out of competition. Lee is currently 2-3 in the UFC and will also look to rebound from a loss. At UFC on FUEL TV 10, Lee was submitted by Raphael Assuncao.

The TUF China Finale will be headlined by John Hathaway and Dong Hyun Kim who will face off in a welterweight scrap.
