Originally expected to meet Argentine Santiago Ponzinibbio in the Octagon, Jordan Mein (27-9) will now face Brazilian newcomer Hernani Perpetuo (17-3) at UFC on FOX 11.

UFC officials announced news of the new booking on Thursday morning and confirmed that Ponzinibbio is out.

Perpetuo is on a 9-fight unbeaten streak. Training out of Nova Uniao in Brazil, the 28-year-old Perpetuo comes into the UFC having won his last bout against Tommy Depret in August. In his 17 wins, Perpetuo has stopped 11 men via submission of (T)KO.

After an impressive promotional debut at UFC 158 where the “Young Gun” became the first man to ever finish Dan Miller, Mein last fought Matt Brown at UFC on FOX 7 and was stopped by strikes in the second round. The 24-year-old Canadian previously competed in Strikeforce and had a 3-fight win streak halted by Brown.

Headlining the UFC on FOX 11 fight card at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, is a heavyweight clash between Travis Browne and Fabricio Werdum. It’s not yet been determined where welterweights Jordan Mein vs. Hernani Perpetuo will take place on the card.
