The Nevada State Athletic Commission set the precedent by banning therapeutic use exemptions for testosterone replacement therapy on Thursday. Directly after the NSAC’s ruling, the UFC announced that they would ban TRT use on their cards overseas where they serve as the commission.

Friday morning the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) also announced their intention to put an end to TRT with fight cards which take place in Brazil. Following UFC Fight Night 39 on March 23, Brazil will no longer issue exemptions for TRT.

The news was first reported by the Brazilian media outlet, Globo.TV.

Dan Henderson was granted a TUE by the Brazilian commission for his upcoming rematch with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.  That exemption will be the last one issued by the CABMMA.

UFC Fight Night 39 will take place at the Nelio Dias Gymnasium in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil on March 23. Henderson vs. Rua 2 is the main event.
