World Series Of Fighting (WSOF) 10 on June 21 and is expected to feature two title fights on the main card. The event will be held in Las Vegas at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and will air on NBC Sports Network.
WSOF officials confirmed the news earlier Tuesday.
First, WSOF featherweight champion Georgi Karakhanyan (23-3-1) will look to defend his strap for the first time when he squares off opposite challenger, Rick Glenn (14-2-1). Also, the WSOF middleweight tournament final will determine who becomes the inaugural 185-division champion when David Branch (13-3) and Jesse Taylor (27-9) battle it out.
Karakhanyan became the featherweight champion at WSOF 7. The 28-year old faced Lance Palmer and submitted him via guillotine choke in the third round. Unbeaten through his last 7 bouts, “Insane” has finished both of his adversaries in the decagon via submission. To date, the Millennia MMA fighter owns 13 submission wins and 4 wins via (T)KO.
Glenn is unbeaten through his last 12 bouts and of his 14 wins, 12 are finishes. In the WSOF, the 25-year old out of Iowa owns a knockout over Alexandre Pimentel and decision over Artur Roti.
Where the middleweight tournament is concerned, Branch has taken unanimous decision nods in his last three outings with the WSOF. He last faced Danilo Villefort in the tournament semi-final to advance to the final.
Ahead of the 32-year old fighting out of Brooklyn, NY is former Ultimate Fighter season 7 standout Jesse Taylor. The California native will look to boast his win streak to 8 in a row when he meets Branch. At WSOF 7, “JT Money” traded leather with Elvis Mutapcic and got the nod on all judges scorecards.
