Holly Holm is again expected to make her highly-anticipated UFC debut in February at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The former boxing champ turned MMA fighter will collide with Raquel Pennington at UFC 184.
MMA Junkie first reported the news.
Pennington and Holm were scheduled to trade leather at UFC 181, but Holm withdrew weeks prior with a neck injury. “Rocky” instead battled Ashlee Evans-Smith and technically submitted her with a bulldog choke with one second left in the first round.
The undefeated Holm last fought at Legacy 30 this April. The Jackson-Winklejohn MMA product finished Juliana Werner in the fifth round to become the promotion’s first women’s bantamweight champion. In the midst of that bout, Holm broke her arm. She was cleared to square off with Pennington at the Dec. 6 UFC event, but had the setback with the next injury.
UFC 184 takes place on Feb. 28 in Los Angeles, Ca., at the Staples Center. UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman puts his title on the line against Vitor Belfort in the main event.
