Two top-ranked bantamweights are set to collide at UFC Fight Night 68 in New Orleans on June 6. Holding down the no. 11 spot is Francisco Rivera, who will square off with the no. 15 ranked Alex Caceres.
On Tuesday, the UFC announced the bout is bound for the Smoothie King Center.
Rivera had compiled a six-fight unbeaten streak before suffering back-to-back losses to Takeya Mizugaki and Urijah Faber. Prior to his setbacks, the 33-year-old fighter had finished four opponents with strikes.
Caceres also had a recent loss to Faber and then dropped a decision to Masanori Kanehara. “Bruce Leeroy” was unbeaten through five battles before losing two consecutive times. In his 10 career wins, the 26-year-old has finished 7 adversaries.
In the main event on tap for the FOX Sports 1 card, light heavyweights Daniel Cormier and Ryan Bader will go head-to-head. Tickets for UFC Fight Night 68 go on sale on Friday, April 10.
