On Thanksgiving Day, Jacob “Stitch” Duran will again grace the silver screen with his presence. The legendary cutman will play a role in the movie Creed, which is currently in post-production.

Creed is a spinoff of the notable Rocky movies. The cast of the upcoming film features Sylvester Stallone, who will again reprise his role as Rocky Balboa. This time, Rocky plays a mentor to Apollo Creed’s grandson, Adonis.

For Duran, this will be the fifth time he appears in a film. He’s appeared in movies like Here Comes the Boom and Mexican Fighter, but this role is unlike any other he’s ever had.

“This is really the biggest part that I’ve had,” Duran said in an interview with Fight Corner. “The director is Ryan Coogler that directed Fruitvale Station. He’s a young kid that’s 28-years-old. Michael B. Jordan is the star, he plays Adonis.

“The storyline is, Apollo Creed before he had that incident with Ivan Drago, had a son, didn’t know that he had a son, eight months later, Adonis was born. He ended up being a boxer, fighting the small fights in L.A. and what have you. He had a nice job, but his dream was to continue [fighting]. So he moved to Philadelphia looking for Rocky Balboa. And he goes to Adrian’s restaurant and found Rocky, and Rocky says ‘Nah. You know what? I don’t train anybody.’ And then, Rocky found out who he was. So he ended up training him or started training him and I was part of the team.

“Rocky’s introduction of me to Adonis is ‘This is Stitch. The best cutman in the business.’ Then he throws in ‘he’s so good, he should have been a doctor.’ So that was my first introduction to him.

“Working with Stallone was just mind-blowing,” Duran continued. “Just to be with him for six weeks on a one-on-one basis and him doing what we do as a cornerman, I have to give him credit because he did a great job. The movie’s really going to be epic.”

As Stitch put it, Stallone was well versed in MMA and on occasion would ask how his Expendables co-star, Ronda Rousey, was doing.

Creed is set to hit theaters on Thanksgiving Day 2015.
